I've just hit the same point. whilst its tempting to continue racing crits, it'll leave me with no conditioning for the upcoming road season, and getting tired due to not enough rest and too much intensity. Base provides a good opportunity for a bit of downtime mentally as well.

You sad people...

Socks are socks are socks. It has nothing to do with looking pro! We were what our teams give us, and most of us (if you bother to look) fold the socks down when we are training to get the tans to our ankles.

Get a life you lot, geez Melbourne if full of pretentious wanders. Go back to playing golf and leave cycling to the working class.

[...] After yesterdays ride up to the Devil’s Elbow my legs were a tad sore so I just used the ride to roll them over and head towards the 500km. Now after two days of the Festive 500 my total km count is at 134km with 336km to do over the remaining week. Next week I’ve got planned Kinglake, 1/20, Blackrock, Park Orchards and Mt Eliza which will give me 530km. Tomorrow though is a recovery day and for Christmas day my only exercise will be swimming. Merry Christmas all and I hope you all get many great cycling items for Christmas, maybe a Camelbak Podium?
