A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how I had started riding to school. After two weeks and an extra 100km’s of riding I think I am now in a position to reflect on the difference it has done to my riding. Simply put it has improved my riding hugely. Just to put it into context last month I rode the Kew Boulevard TT in 21:45 and last sunday after two weeks of riding to school I did it in 20:27. Here is a full comparison of the two rides:

Interesting huh? Who would have thought that an extra 50k per week would make such a amazing difference to my performances. After the amazing improvement though I’m totally hooked and will be riding to school till Year 12. If you are planning or considering to ride to school one thing that really helps is bicycle panniers. While they aren’t the most bling piece of equippment in the world it is definitely worth having them so you don’t need to wear a backpack. Here are some pics a mate of dads took of me at the race. They make me look pretty speedy so I thought I would put the up.

P.S The next Kew Boulevard TT is on Sunday the 16th. Race entries close on Friday night so make sure you get your entry on through the Blackburn website. Hope to see you there.
